This workshop is for ages 10 to 15. Taught by special guest Keir Graff, prolific author of books for both kids and adults (most recently the next installment in the MK’s Detective Club series, with James Patterson, and a book of nonfiction called Chicago’s Fine Arts Building: Music, Magic, and Murder), young authors will learn the fundamentals of fiction writing, from idea generation to drafting, revision, editing, and publication. Keir will mentor students as they write short stories or first chapters to be included in the anthology, “Tales from the Treehouse.” The Workshop will be held 9 a.m. to Noon daily from Monday, July 13 through Friday, July 17 and concludes with a celebratory student reading on Friday, July 17 at 12 noon in the Treehouse Theater
