Holidays of Light Around the World

Many of our favorite holidays around the world and enhanced by that icy, fluffy, white stuff that falls in Utah’s own mountains - but some world holidays and festivals are really all about the snow. This Saturday afternoon, regardless of the height of our snow-pack, we’ll be learning about some of these fun traditions. We’ll be playing snow games inside the museum starting a 1 p.m. while sculpting “snow sculptures” out of model magic in our Art Garden throughout the day. And at 3 p.m. we’ll be telling one of our favorite winter stories on our theater stage as a ParticiPlay.

Solstice Celebration

It’s a Winter Solstice Party! This week for Holiday’s of Light our focus is on the Winter Solstice - likely the oldest celebrated holiday in the world! On this, the shortest day of the year, we’ll be making some solstice music together on the drums, crafting solstice lanterns in our Art Garden, and celebrating solstice with magic shows featuring magician Chel Spel on the Treehouse Theater Stage at 1 and 3 p.m.
