Blue Star Day

Memorial Day Weekend is upon us and at Treehouse and we are again a Blue Star Museum. Active duty military families receive free admission all summer long (until the Saturday before Labor Day) just by showing valid military ID! And this Saturday, May 25, we want to thank all our service members and veterans by offering free admission for them and for their immediate families. We’ll present activities throughout the day, with our usual ParticiPlays at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., a patriotic art project all day in our art garden, and special activities in our Star Spangled Gallery starting at 1 p.m.

Tortoise & Hare Day

There’s a marathon in O-town this morning, and at Treehouse Museum we are keeping pace, by retelling the story of one of folklore’s most famous races, “The Tortoise and the Hare,” with interactive retellings at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. We’ll also be making tortoise hats in the Museum’s Art Garden throughout the day and playing a family obstacle course game in the 1 o’clock hour. So, while the streets of Ogden are transformed by this annual event outside, join us inside for loads of race day fun! (See the Treehouse Superheroes at the children's area near the finish line at the Ogden City Marathon, too!)

Mother's Day Celebration

It’s Mother’s Day weekend and admission for Mothers is free all day. And it might just be your final chance to make a beautiful hand crafted collage card in Treehouse’s Art Garden for all of the important mothers in your life. Don’t forget a ParticiPlay at 11 a.m. and a performance of “The Real Story of Little Red Riding Hood” by the actors of the Brigham City Fine Arts Center at 2 p.m. today.

We're also offering free admissions for Moms on Monday. May 13, too. Happy Mother's Day!

May 4th Fun

In honor of the unofficial “space story” holiday this Saturday, we’ll be going Sci-Fi at the museum. At 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. we’ll be sharing an interactive ParticiPlay mashup of some of our favorite fairy tales - done up in an intergalactic way. In the art garden we’ll be using loose parts (recycled materials) to design a droid or space worthy vehicle to take home. And at 1 p.m. we’ll pull out our bee bots to let families check out and practice simple robot programming. May the fourth “bee bot” with you.
