For ages 10 through 15. Young authors will learn the fundamentals of fiction writing from idea generation to drafting, revision, editing, and publication with guest instructor Keir Graff, a nationally published multi-genre author. Keir will mentor students as they write short stories to be included in the anthology, “Tales from the Treehouse.” This week-long workshop culminates with a celebratory student reading on Friday, July 11 at 12 noon in the Treehouse Theater.

Tuesday June 24 through Friday, June 27 — 10 a.m. to 12 noon
For children age 6 to 10. Work with Jennifer Ware, Treehouse’s Visitor Services Manager to paint, draw, and sculpt your own masterpieces using a variety of mediums, all based on the art of recognized artists.

Work with guest instructor James Kennedy, founder of the 90-second Newbery Film Festival and Young Adult Author, and other class participants to script, film, and edit short films that give a new twist to a Newbery award-winning book. Screen your movie for your family and friends at special showing scheduled at the end of the workshop.
