It is now officially the year of the Dragon, and Treehouse visitors can help celebrate Lunar New Year this Saturday with a Chinese Dragon Dance! At 1:00 PM Museum guests will take turns dancing the Museum’s dragon parade puppet around the museum and making music for the dancers as assisted by Treehouse staff and volunteers. The Treehouse Simmon’s Storybook Theater will feature a Chinese folk tale called “The Grateful Snake,” with participatory performances at 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM, and the Museum’s Art Garden will also be open throughout the day so that children can make their own paper dragon dance puppets to take home and continue the celebration.
