Treehouse staff and Board are committed to helping grownups have the resources they need to teach their children. Right now in our nation and communities, and maybe around your dinner table, there are important conversations taking place about equality and justice. Sometimes a great children’s book can help parents and grandparents talk about the big issues of racism, inclusion, and diversity in ways children can understand. We’d like to recommend some of our favorites books:

"Martin’s Big Words: The Life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr." by Doreen Rappaport with illustrations by Bryan Collier

Sesame Street’s "We’re Different, We’re the Same"

"The Other Side" by Jacqueline Woodson with illustrations by E. B. Lewis

"The Story of Ruby Bridges" by Robert Coles with illustrations by George Ford

"Last Stop on Market Street" by Matt de la Peña with illustrations by Christian Robinson

"Teammates" by Peter Golenbock with illustrations by Paul Bacon
