For ages 10 through 14. Young authors will learn the fundamentals of fiction writing, from idea generation to drafting, revision, editing, and publication with author Keir Graff. Keir will mentor students as they write short stories or first chapters to be included in the anthology, “Tales from the Treehouse.” This week-long workshop will be held Monday, July 31 through Friday, August 4, from 9:30 to 12 noon each day, and culminates with two events parents are welcome to attend: a Q&A  about writing and publishing as part of an event with Keir on Wednesday, August 2 at 6 p.m., and a celebratory student reading on Friday, August 4 at 12 noon in the Treehouse Theater. Member children receive half-price registration.

Then, we’ll solve a mystery together, figuring out coded clues and using deductive reasoning as we interview our cast of characters throughout the Museum. Make and keep your own “decoder rings” and enjoy the prizes and surprises planned for the whole family. Best for children ages 6 and up.
