For ages 10 to 14. Ever want to make your own movie? Work with author and founder of the 90 Second Newbery Film Festival James Kennedy and other participants to script, film, and edit short films that give a new twist to a Newbery award-winning book. This special workshop will be held Monday, July 10 through Friday, July 14 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon each day with a special screening for the movies and for families and friends on Saturday, July 15 at 2 p.m. in the Treehouse Theater. Member children receive half-price registration.

For Ages: 7 to 11. This four day workshop with Treehouse Programs Manager and Science Enthusiast Wes Whiby provides hands-on science and engineering activities. Taught also by the Museum Programs team, each day will include a daily challenge to solve together! This special workshop will be held Tuesday, July 25 through Friday, July 28, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day. Member children receive half-price registration.

For ages 10 through 14. Young authors will learn the fundamentals of fiction writing, from idea generation to drafting, revision, editing, and publication with author Keir Graff. Keir will mentor students as they write short stories or first chapters to be included in the anthology, “Tales from the Treehouse.” This week-long workshop will be held Monday, July 31 through Friday, August 4, from 9:30 to 12 noon each day, and culminates with two events parents are welcome to attend: a Q&A  about writing and publishing as part of an event with Keir on Wednesday, August 2 at 6 p.m., and a celebratory student reading on Friday, August 4 at 12 noon in the Treehouse Theater. Member children receive half-price registration.
